FAQs

Q ) 1. Why am I not selected for the next stage of selection, like PMT-ET-PET or Viva-Voce ?

Each stage of recruitment has separate cut off marks for each community. Candidates are not selected for not securing the required cut off marks for their community. The details of cut off marks are hosted on the website and the candidates can refer to it.

The Cut-off mark is not fixed by the TNUSRB. For each stage of recruitment there will be a ratio of selection. Number of candidates declared pass after written examination will be 5 times the number of vacancies. Similarly the number of candidates selected for Viva – voce will be 2 times the number of vacancies for SIs (Taluk, AR & TSP) & SIs (Finger Print) and 3 times the number of vacancies for SIs (Technical). The last candidate’s mark in each community will be the Cut-off mark for that community in that stage of recruitment. Hence, Cut-off mark will not be the same as previous recruitment and will vary from recruitment to recruitment depending upon the marks secured by the candidates.

For each stage of recruitment, the results will be published on the TNUSRB website from time to time. Hence, by periodically checking the website, the candidates can know the results.

When the Hall Ticket/Call letter is hosted, it will be announced on the TNUSRB website. Also, it will be intimated to all the eligible candidates through email and SMS.

Commencement of recruitment each year is based on the vacancies projected by the DGP, Tamil Nadu, Director of Fire & Rescue Services and Director General of Prison. On receipt vacancies from Police, Fire & Prison Departments, TNUSRB commences the recruitment process.
