Candidates applying under 10% Sports Quota should fulfill all the norms prescribed for open candidates. In addition, the candidate is required to produce Form-I/Form-II/Form-III for the approved 16 games/sports for an event held within 5 years preceding the date of notification. (i) 5% of the vacancies will be reserved for Ex-servicemen (Discharged from service within 3 years preceding from the date of notification)/ Serving persons who are going to be retire within one year from the last date of receipt of application.
(ii) If the Ex-servicemen fail to upload their discharge certificate, with the date of discharge their application will not be considered under Ex-Serviceman category.
(iii) The serving Armed Forces personnel who are going to retire within one year from the last date of receipt of online application should upload a certificate with self undertaking, obtained from the Commanding Officer of his unit in the prescribed format. Failing which they will not be considered for this reservation.
(iv) The Ex-Servicemen who have not completed 3 years after discharge from service only are eligible for applying for this recruitment.
(i) 3% of the vacancies in the District/ City Armed reserve (women), and prison warder (women) will be allocated for destitute widows.
(ii) Destitute Widow candidates should obtain “Destitute Widow Certificate” from the Revenue Divisional Officer / Sub-Collector / Assistant Collector and upload the same along with the online application. Failing which they will not be considered under Destitute Widow category.
20% of all vacancies shall be set apart on preferential basis for the candidates who studied in Tamil Medium from 1st standard to 10th standard based on their community.
(a) The Transgender candidates may decide their self-identified anyone gender such as Male or Female or as third gender. A Transgender candidate, who applies under third gender, should upload an Identity Card obtained from the Tamil Nadu Transgender Welfare Board.
(b) If a transgender candidate chooses the gender as Male, he should participate in the Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Certificate Verification along with Male candidates. If a transgender candidate chooses the gender as Female, she should participate in the Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Certificate Verification along with female candidates.
(c) If transgender candidates apply under Third gender, they will be treated like Female candidates.
(d) If the transgender candidates produce their community certificate, they can get the benefit of communal reservation like other candidates.
(e) If the transgender candidates do not produce their community certificate, they will be treated as Most Backward Class category.

Part I. Tamil Language Eligibility Test:
i. The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature.
ii. It will be objective type in nature.
iii. It will consist of 80 questions for 80 marks and the duration of examination will be 80 minutes (1 Hr. 20 mins.)
iv. The candidate has to obtain minimum of 40% marks in Tamil Language Eligibility test, for him/her to be eligible for the next level of evaluation of the main examination OMR answer sheet.
v. The marks obtained in Tamil Language Eligibility Test will not be considered for preparation of provisional selection list at any stage.
Part II. Main Written Examination:
i) Part-A : General Knowledge – 45 Marks (objective type questions). Part-B : Psychology – 25 marks (objective type questions). |

10% is allotted for sports quota Special marks only for applicants who participated in sports before 5 years and uploaded Sports Form-I, or II or III or other sports certificates.
In each category, the highest certificate (yielding maximum marks) will be considered. If a candidate having two certificates which are carrying equal marks, one certificate will be considered for awarding marks.
Candidate (NCC/NSS/Sports/Games) having two certificate which are carrying equal marks, one certificate will be considered for awarding marks. A candidate can claim maximum of 6 marks under special marks.
a. Provisional Select List is drawn based on the total marks obtained in the Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, and NCC, NSS, Sprots/Games Special marks for the post of Gr.II Police Constable, Gr.II Jail Warder and Fireman subject to communal reservation and total vacancies.
b. If there is a tie in marks, the candidate seniority according to their date of birth and age shall be given priority in selection.
c. If the marks secured are equal and date of birth is same, preference shall be given to the candidate who is an outstanding scout, having received an award from the President of India.
d. 20% of all vacancies shall be set apart on preferential basis for the persons who studied in Tamil Medium from Ist standard to 10th standard.
(b). MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND VERIFICATION OF CHARACTER AND ANTECEDENTS:Provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination and verification of character and antecedents through Police Department.
The Examination fee is Rs.250/-. Examination fee shall be paid either through SBI Bank e-challan or online payment. Any other modes of payments are not accepted.
