chairman

I am privileged to be heading the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, which has been entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting Sub-Inspectors of Police (all categories) and Gr.II Police Constables, Gr.II Jail warders & Firemen for Police, Prison and Fire & Rescue Services Departments respectively.

Since its inception in 1991, TNUSRB has recruited approximately 8047 SIs, 1,06,881 Gr.II PCs, 3983 Gr.II Jail Warders and 6460 Firemen. In addition to this, TNUSRB has also recruited 10,099 Youth Brigade personnel who were later absorbed into Tamil Nadu Special Police. Presently, we are striving to conduct regular recruitments of SIs and Gr.II Police Constables, Gr.II Jail warders and Firemen on annual basis. We have recently concluded the recruitment of 968 Sub- Inspectors of Police (Taluk, AR & TSP) and declared the results on 15.04.2021. The recruitment process of 11,813 Gr.II Police Constables, Gr.II Jail warders and Firemen has just been completed and the result has been declared on 26.11.2021.

Over the years, TNUSRB has adopted the use of modern technology to make the recruitment process more transparent and efficient. Since 2015, the system of online applications has been successfully functioning. The board has acquired 52 digital height measuring devices to eliminate human errors. The TNUSRB website has been revamped to suit the current requirements. It is proposed to conduct online written examination for Sub-Inspectors of Police (Technical) for the next recruitment and extend it to other examinations being conducted by TNUSRB in future.

TNUSRB is one of the best recruiting agencies for Uniformed Services in the country. It has a long history and rich tradition of conducting fair and transparent recruitments and inducting best of the young men and women at cutting edge levels of various uniformed services of the state.

We, at TNUSRB, will continue to strive hard to ensure efficient, fair, transparent and high quality recruitment process in all our future recruitments.
